Baharat Moroccan Spice Blend with Saffron is a premium quality Arabian spice prepared in Moroccan style. Baharat means spices in Arabic and like every region has its own style and taste, we also have our own unique blend of spice mix including garam masala or ras el hanout. 

Most of the main ingredients used in ras el hanout recipe or authentic Moroccan spice mix are present in our Baharat Moroccan Spice Mix. These ground spices have a beautiful aroma, and it adds a wonderful flavor in seafood, stews, stakes, and barbecue.

In the North African region, Morocco is one of the cities which is famous for its food and style of cooking. Most of the authentically Moroccan-style food is prepared and eaten in Moroccan tagines (a Berber dish, an earthenware pot). 

Their typical lunch meal is a series of different salads, both hot and cold. After that, any meat, mostly beef, is eaten in a tagine. Baharat spice is the go-to spice for most tagine meals.

Moroccan seasoning is perfect for lamb, seafood, and chicken. You can use it in making stews, slow cooking, and baking.

Let’s jump to the recipe of Moroccan cuisine: BBQ Prawn with Baharat Moroccan Spice Blend + Saffron.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Baharat Moroccan Blend with Saffron
  • 1kg whole green prawns
  • Cooking oil of choice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • A barbecue or grill metal skewers

Method:

  • Remove just the leg of the prawns with a knife and leave the rest.
  •         Wash the prawns and pat dry with a paper towel.
  •         Preheat the barbecue grill.
  •         Place the prawns into the bowl and add the Baharat Moroccan Blend + Saffron. Dry rub the spice mix to make an even coat.
  •         Set the prawns in meta skewers and add little oil on the barbecue grill.
  •         Cook each side of the prawns at every skewer for at least 2 minutes or until the shells become crispy.
